Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) confirm extension of COVID-19 temporary measures for company meetings
On April 9th, 2021, ACRA confirmed that the COVID-19 temporary measures for company meetings would be extended from beyond June 2021.
These measures will therefore allow companies to continue to hold and carry out their board/general meetings:
- By permitting notices and all documents to be tabled at board/general meeting to be provided electronically or by mail;
- For members to appoint the chairman of the company as proxy by electronic means; and
- Voting to be carried out by electronic means.
Despite anything to the contrary contained in the law or constitution of the company.
The extended period will be indefinite subject to a written notice from the Ministry of Finance.
